Southern SmashUp is Back!
Back for our third year, the Southern Smashup is the ultimate one-day roller derby event, hosted by Dead End Derby, Christchurch Roller Derby.
6 games of roller derby throughout the day, starting with 4 games of an ultimate mixed scrimmage, beginning at 9:30am.
We take 60 players from around the country who get 'smashed up' into different teams... for each game, so no game/team will be the same.
We are also hosting a junior roller derby game to showcase our up and coming Under 18 skaters.
The tournament finishes with a final game of our very own Dead End Derby Death Stars going head to head against the 'Smash Stars' invitational team at 6:30pm.
Check out the Facebook Event page for more details and to keep updated with latest developments!

After a break over the summer months, DED is back and ready for the 2019 season! Lots of exciting things happening in the league right now, from new transfer skaters to our Death Stars competing in Australia later on in the year. Junior Roller Derby has been going from strength to strength with the juniors numbers increasing and on top of training they have also been involved in demonstrations at events that the league has gone along to.
Due to popular demand we now have a Baby Roller Derby skating program. Baby Derby is for children aged between 4 and 7 years old with the sessions made up of games, stories and some fun skating. This is scheduled to start in Spring 2018.
