About Dead End Derby
Dead End Derby Girls formed in Christchurch, New Zealand in late 2007. We are a non-profit flat track league that is skater owned and operated. Our league has grown from a handful of girls with a vision to our rapidly expanding league with two inter-league teams traveling nationally to compete: The All Stars team and the Living Dead Rollers. Our local themed charity bouts provide all ages fun for our local fans and we donate a portion of the proceeds to charity each year.
Members of our league have even competed internationally, we were proud to have one representative from DED compete as part of Team New Zealand in the second ever Roller Derby World Cup, held in Texas, USA in 2014.
We are dedicated to the development of amateur athletes, encouraging the physical, mental and emotional training needed while respecting and valuing the individual strengths each member contributes. We are also committed to bettering our community through donations and charitable service. Charities that we have supported include Cholmondeley Home, Golden Hearts Appeal, Floyd’s Creative Arts Charitable Trust, Cat’s Protection League, Camp Quality, Gap Filler, SAFE, the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation, White Ribbon Trust.
