About Dead End Derby

Dead End Derby was formed in Christchurch, New Zealand in late 2007. We are a non-profit flat track league that is skater-owned and operated. Our league has grown from a handful of girls with a vision to our rapidly expanding league with two inter-league teams travelling nationally to compete: The Death Stars and the Living Dead Rollers. Our local-themed exhibition bouts provide all ages fun for our local fans.

Members of our league have even competed internationally, we were proud to have two representatives from DED compete as part of Team New Zealand in the Roller Derby World Cup, held in Manchester, UK in 2018 and currently have members in the Team New Zealand Squad.

From 2024 we became a mixed-gender league.

We are proud to also have a strong junior team, The Rolling Dead. Members from our junior team represented New Zealand at the Junior Roller Derby World cup held in France in 2023 and we have a number of members on the training squad for the 2025 Junior Roller Derby World Cup being held in Brisbane.
